Can You Escape From Responsibility?

Someone asked me in Hindi, "How can he be free from responsibilities?" Here is the answer in both Hindi and English. I have not translated this from English to Hindi. For purity of thought I originally wrote it in Hindi and translated into English. Since I do not regularly write in Hindi, please bear with it.
Life is a long journey, in which you have to undertake many responsibilities. Your life is your responsibility as well as your obligation. You cannot leave that to others, nor can you escape from it.
Many people try to run away from their responsibilities, sometimes by running away, sometimes by postponing, sometimes by giving up, sometimes by blaming others, sometimes by becoming lazy or by finding some excuse or the other.
By these means you may escape from work and responsibilities, but not from the problems of life. You may find some resting time but not relief. Work is the rule of life. No one can escape from it. By giving up work, you cannot escape from yourself.
From duties, even God is not free. He has to run the universe, and we, our lives. This is the principle of creation. Prakriti and Purusha (Nature and God), when these two work, only then the world moves. Just imagine, if your body refuses to work, what will happen to you? The one who moves them is the Lord only, who resides in you as your very Self.
If everyone becomes free from their duties and responsibilities, then what will happen to the world? The main purpose of every human being is to perform his obligatory duties. The highest purpose of Hindu Dharma is this only.
In the Bhagavadgita, God says that you should not escape from your work. Even if you try, you cannot. No one can escape from actions and karma. Even if you do not engage in actions, you will incur karma, Merit and sin arise from both action and inaction, and both bind the people to the cycle of births and deaths.
Hence, God says that a bound soul should engage in desireless actions. He should work without selfishness, and whatever fruit that arises from his actions, he should offer that to God. This is the main teaching of the Karma yoga. Karma yoga is the highest duty of the householders.
Even renunciants cannot escape from life or from responsibilities. After giving up everything, they have to strive for their liberation. They too have to practice karma yoga, jnana yoga and sanyasa yoga to manage their lives. Only then, they can hope to escape from death, from suffering and from rebirth
It is why you should not try to escape from obligations. Whatever you can do and whatever you can carry, take responsibility for them and offer to God whatever fruit or consequence that arises from them. Keep on performing your actions every day, and keep on moving forward towards liberation.
Hindi Translation
